On every trip to a new place I take a camera with me. It is always equipped with a black and white negative film. If I see something interesting or fascinating, I try to record it. My intention is to conserve the moment and be able to live through the fascination for it again, when I am standing in the darkroom and the picture appears on the paper.
Auf jedem Streifzug durch einen neuen Ort begleitet mich eine Kamera, geladen mit Schwarzweissfilm. Wenn ich etwas sehe oder etwas passiert, das mich fasziniert, halte ich es fest. Mein Anliegen ist das Dokumentieren der Impression oder des Momentes. Bei der Arbeit in der Dunkelkammer durchlebe ich den Moment erneut, wenn das Bild auf dem Papier erscheint.
